Insula Electric was founded by Mr. Themis Papoutsakis and Mr. George Mastromanolis in 1978 with main subject the repair of electric motors
and appliances.

Company through the years evolved to a motor rewinding shop that could repair larger and larger motors pumps and generators. A trade department arose covering these activities.

Trade department separated from the repair shop making space for company growth.

In 2004 the company passed into Papoutsakis family in the form of Papoutsakis ltd.
The electrical control panel department was founded by George Papoutsakis with focus in automation systems and control.

In 2006 the electrical control panel department expanded to the assembly of power distribution cabinets and systems.

In 2011 a new manufacturing unit was setup to be able to conceive design , manufacture and test all kinds of Electrical Enclosure systems using the latest technology and techniques.

In 2012 a new electrostatic powder coating facility in a new building was formed.

In 2013 Insula Electric starts to design and manufacture electrical generating sets from 13.5 to 1250KVA.

In 2014 the company starts to manufacture Medium Voltage electrical switchgear and pass the rigorous test or IEC 60270 for its products.

In 2015 a low voltage transformer manufacturing unit started to produce transformers from 50VA up to 100KVA.

Installation of a new Polyurethane Gasketing CNC machine completes the quality Of the produced electrical panel cabinets upgrading their IP rating to IP66.
